Partner programme

EuroPython 2014 includes a partner programme. If you are visiting Berlin but are not attending the conference, you will find like-minded people here. We offer a partner ticket that covers public transport and five selected events from Monday through Friday.

The partner ticket includes:

  • public transport Mon-Sun in the AB zone
  • Monday: picnic on the Teufelsberg mountain
  • Tuesday: guided tour through the natural reserve "Südgelände"
  • Wednsday: conference dinner
  • Thursday: brunch in the district of Kreuzberg 
  • Friday: boat trip on the Spree river

Every morning at 9:00 you have the opportunity to meet other participants to plan activities or simply learn to know each other. The meeting point is Starbucks below the TV tower at Alexanderplatz. The earlier excursions also start here. 

Tickets for the partner programme are available for 90,- EUR. Children up to 12 years are free of charge (but you need a "buy" a child partner ticket for 0 €).

Monday, July 21st

9:00 Get-together at Starbucks, Alexanderplatz, right below the TV tower
Here you have an opportunity to meet other participants of the partner programme. In the first session, we will help you connect to each other, assist in organizing local pre-paid SIM cards and introduce your tour guide(s).

9:45 Departure from Startbucks towards Teufelsberg
The Teufelsberg (Devils' Mountain) is an artificial mountain built from the rubble of the 2nd World War. It is a favourite recreational area, especially for people flying kites or paragliding. The way there will take you through part of the Grunewald forest and an abandoned U.S. surveillance station.

Tuesday, July 22nd

11:00 Guided tour through the "Naturpark Südgelände"
Have you ever wondered what would happen if people suddenly disappeared from the face of earth? This is what happened on one of the largest European train stations during the cold war. Biologist Dr. Wiedenmann will let you explore the richness of an area reclaimed by nature.

The tour starts at 11:00 at the southern gate of the Priesterweg station (S2/S26).

Wednsday, July 23rd

Thursday, July 24th

9:30 Departure from Starbucks to the Ostbahnhof station. Walk along the East Side gallery, the longest remaining section of the Berlin wall.

11:30 Brunch at the Edelweiss
It is said that in Berlin you can eat breakfast 24 hours a day. Certainly you find many awesome breakfast places. The Edelweiss is such a place. It is located in the heart of the famous district of Kreuzberg. A brunch is perfect to simply chill out and start to explore the nearby Kiez 36.

Friday, July 25th

9:00 Get-together at Starbucks, Alexanderplatz, right below the TV tower

13:00-16:00 Boat trip on the Spree river.

The MS Stralau will take you on a sightseeing tour on water. The boat will take you on a round-trip through the entire central urban area of Berlin. The boat will depart at 13:00 from the Schillingbrücke near Ostbahnhof station, and reach the same location at the end of the trip.
Drinks are available for purchase on board.
